Grow Your Own Native Plants at Paradise Creek Nature Park
Jun 30, 2018 10:00 am - Jun 30, 2018 12:00 am
Age: Adult (River Star Homes encouraged!)
Date: Saturday, June 30
Time: 10 am – Noon
Native plants are terrific for the ecosystem but can be hard to find, not to mention expensive. “So I grow my own,” says Mike Barbachem, an environmental engineer and long-time Elizabeth River Project volunteer. He will share lessons from growing hundreds of native plants for his yard. This workshop will provide participants the needed information about how to grow native plants from seeds. Details about where to buy seeds, how to germinate them, and then how to plant them will be provided. Workshop location, Fred W. Beazley River Academy (blue building), Paradise Creek Nature Park.
This event is FREE but registration is required: (757)-392-7135, bgavin@elizabethriver.org. Presented by the non-profit Elizabeth River Project. Donations encouraged to keep river restoration growing: elizabethriver.org.
