The Olde Towne Portsmouth Civic League is excited to share all of the beauty that is found throughout the Olde Towne neighborhood this spring with their Doors Porches and Gardens walking tour!

Enjoy the hidden gems and secret gardens in this lovely historic neighborhood dating back to 1752! Olde Towne has the largest collection of historic homes between Alexandria, VA and Charleston, SC.

Your tour begins at the Portsmouth Welcome Center located at 206 High Street.
There is free parking in the Middle Street Garage, 441 Middle Street.

The tour includes 8 gardens and dozens of doors and porches between London, Crawford, North, and Court streets, as well as free admission to the Hill House Museum.

Since this amazing event lasts from 10 am – 4 pm, you can spend the day strolling the streets, and then rest your feet while enjoying lunch in one of our 20+ chef-owned restaurants.

Whether you love strolling along tree-lined brick sidewalks, enjoying beautiful flowers and gardens, or are looking for some great ideas for your own backyard, there is something for everyone at the Doors, Porches, and Gardens tour!

Entertainment will be provided by plein air artists along the route, roaming historical interpreters, and music in the featured gardens, including pianists and traditional Irish and Scottish musicians.

Water will be provided to tour-goers in the gardens (no plastic bottles to reduce waste!) and the Olde Towne kids will be selling lemonade at their own lemonade stand!
