Dr. Maria Alavanja graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Chemistry and earned a Master’s Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving her commission in the United States Navy in 2000, Dr. Alavanja attended the Uniformed Services University and earned her Doctor of Medicine. She transferred to the Hampton Roads area in 2008 and served at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. After more than 15 years of Naval service including two deployments, Dr. Alavanja left the Navy to continue her career in psychiatry in the Hampton Roads area.
Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9 am – 4 pm
Friday: 9 am – 2 pm
Saturday 9 am – 12 pm
