Kids of all ages can create some art and win cash prizes at the chalk art contest at  St. John’s Episcopal Church from 10-11. The Churchland High School Art Scholars will be doing Face Painting in the Middle Street Mall beginning at 11. All kids LOVE model trains and the ones at the Railroad Museum of VA will be rumbling around the track all day. Hear the Children’s Chorus at Middle Street Mall at 11, and on you travels keep an eye out for our favorite member of the mounted patrol – Moose!

Whether you love jazz, steel drums, acoustic guitar, sea chanteys sung by a pirate, or an amazing church organ – we’ve got you covered!

As you stroll the shops and restaurants, you will find art and artists demonstrating their talents at 10 different locations. Keep on the lookout for the Plein-air artists wandering through Olde Towne sharing their love of art and competing for cash prizes!

If you love historic buildings or incredible stained glass – take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the Underground Railroad at Emanuel AME Church or see the 28 German stained glass windows at St. Paul’s Church. With tours of Trinity, St. John’s and First Lutheran as well as the Commodore Theatre and Copper & Oak Craft Spirits, you can get a peek inside of history!

 

 

 

 

6) Events Throughout Olde Towne!

The Fort Norfolk & Frigate Constellation will present a dynamic living history reenactment from 10-2 in the 700 block of High Street in front of Olde Towne’s newest mural, the Battle of Craney Island. This reenactment from the War of 1812 is sponsored by the Hill House Museum.
