48th Annual Student Art & Design Exhibition March 23 – April 25, 2019
A year’s work culminates with a student show chosen from completed Visual Arts Center course projects. Featuring over 200 pieces by more than 100 students, works represent program courses in Studio Arts, Photography, Graphic Design, Ceramics, and Glassblowing.

This exhibition by Cate Currier and Clay McGlamory (Portsmouth, VA) features collaborative and solo works in neon and printmaking, Cate Currier focuses on color interactions that convey movement, optical effects, and resonances in luminous tubing and on paper. Clay McGlamory creates screenprint installations using photographic images rooted in formal concerns, often printing on alternative materials including glass and acrylic.
Tidewater Community College’s Visual Arts Center is a state-of-the-art, high tech facility offering degree programs in Graphic Design and Studio Arts. Specifics include: a rooftop glassblowing studio; 16 studios with smart technology; seven MAC labs for Graphic Design, Photography, and Fundamentals of Design courses; a 40,000 piece BB&T Books and Images Library; and over 2,000 square feet of formal exhibition space that features artwork by regional, national, and international artists as well as TCC students and faculty.
