Established in 1832, Cedar Grove is Portsmouth’s oldest public cemetery. It is the final resting place of over 4,000 Portsmouth residents, including soldiers from various wars starting with America’s Revolution. The graves feature notable examples of Greek Revival, Late Victorian, and Exotic Revival Funerary art. Come and learn about this historic jewel as members of the non-profit Cedar Grove Cemetery Foundation share highlights of some of those interred there.
