A Grave Affair

Meet the local ghosts of Portsmouth while taking a heart-stopping tour through the city’s oldest church graveyard. Come inside for spooky organ music. Fortune tellers will be on hand to tell you your future along with silent movies, singing pumpkins, and all manor of assorted ghouls. Dress in costume and enter the costume contest. See para-normal scholars at work. For the faint of heart, you can enjoy midway games, hot cider, and scenic fall photo sets. Have your face painted like a zombie. See a fall floral demonstration. Pick your favorite jack-o-lantern.
This event is held in conjunction with A Night at the Museum at the Hill House Museum, 221 North Street. Buy your tickets to the museum and take a ride through Olde Towne on a golf cart to the historic Hill House. The house is decorated with mourning textiles and will include a “make-shift” Victorian funeral upstairs.
The museum tour is $5. The Grave Affair is free to attend and pay as you go for the activities. Kids are welcome too.
